Routes was founded by AK after he was released from a professional football club. After years of training, development and dedication, he left with nothing official to show for it — no record of his progress, no verified achievements, no portfolio of the skills he had built. Just a verbal acknowledgement that he had been there.

That experience raised a question that seemed obvious once asked: why do people have no way to carry proof of what they have learned and achieved? Not just in sport — but anywhere. Education, training, work experience, voluntary roles. The moments that shape a person rarely leave a trace that the next employer, college or opportunity can trust.

Routes was the answer. Initially built with sport in mind, it quickly became clear that the same gap existed everywhere. A learner leaving a college with no portfolio. A young person completing an apprenticeship with no evidence of soft skills. An adult returner whose experience simply doesn't fit a traditional CV.

Routes now serves learners, organisations and employers across education, sport, training and employment sectors — with one shared goal: that no one leaves their journey with nothing to show for it.
